We are extremely glad and excited to announce that Northern Melbourne Marathi Mandal has now been registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria as a Not for Profit Incorporation.
Our registration Number is A0112467K.

Purpose of the Mandal:

1. To bring together all the Marathi residents of Northern suburbs of Melbourne through this
   Not-for-Profit Incorporation.
2. To celebrate all the Marathi festivals and other Indian cultural programs together
3. To help our next generation develop a strong bond with our Marathi Cultural Heritage
4. As part of social responsibility create opportunities to give back to the broader Australian
   Community.

As a migrant in Australia, away from our home we all often feel separated from our roots, especially when it comes to the Marathi culture, celebrating festivals, family love and support. This led to the thought of building the close-knit Marathi community around us who share the same cultural background. Expression of this thought shared by few families in northern suburbs of Melbourne in 2019 gave rise to the inception of forming Mandal. These few families started connecting Marathi people living in northern suburbs of Melbourne.

In March 2021, some marathi families came together to celebrate Holi where they also entrusted the formation of Marathi Mandal for marathi people in northern suburbs of Melbourne. On the first day of marathi new year in April 2021 Northern Melbourne Marathi Mandal started its journey by celebrating Gudhi Padwa. NMMM was formally registered as nonprofit Incorporation on 4 May 2021 with consumer affairs Victoria (Reg. No. A0112467K).
